We are hoping to meet up with some friends staying at the Haven site in Hopton in September. This site doesn't accept tents.
Does anyone know of a nearby site that does?

I'm only posting here cos you look so lonely  LOL

Doing a Google it looks like Hopton is OWNED lock stock and barrel by Haven. There is no camping anywhere near. I suggest you search Gt Yarmouth It's only a stones throw away and must have no end of sites?

The other option is look for deals at Haven. We booked four days for under a hundred quid earlier in the year and that was for an eight berth caravan. LOL I hated it  but Ms Funky and the grandkids loved it. Serves me right for being a miserable old bugger

We have just returned from another fabulious stay at Rose Farm, and can hgihly reccoment it, not too far from Hopton. Avoid Breydon Water like the plague, we had a walk through it whilst away, all units at most 2meters apart, filthly, field like a bog (had alot of rain), our site owner told us that the police had been out twise already that week for fights/stuff getting nicked!

    Hi, "Thehornets"...

..."Pampas Lodge" at Haddiscoe, has a good reputation and is a very quiet small site, that takes touring tents at a very reasonable £11 per night (with E.H.U. available)... It's near the Beccles to Gt. Yarmouth road and about a six mile drive through the countryside (via St. Olaves & Lound) to Hopton-on-Sea... The telephone number is 01502 677265 should it sound O.K. for you...

"Rose Farm" near Burgh Castle (as mentioned above) is also a nice quiet small site, with easy access to Hopton-on-Sea too (about 4 miles via the Beccles/Gt. Yarmouth road)...

"Rose Farm" has a listing on the U.K.C.S. 'Campsite Search' facility with reviews, but I don't think "Pampas Lodge" is listed... I believe they do an 'out of season' special at "Rose Farm" for the 'over 50s' a full week pitch, with E.H.U. for £50!... So, if you're over fifty, this looks like a good choice!...

P.S. Welcome to the U.K.C.S. website...

Hopton is situated half way between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Great Yarmouth is Norfolk and Lowestoft is Suffolk so bear this in mind if you do a county search. We visited a campsite on the coast road near Corton that looked nice (very close to Hopton).

Don't forget to visit Gorleston near Great yarmouth - lovely quaint little place with an old fashiones model boating lake.
