We've been to three campsites this summer, and our favourite by far was Powderham Castle in Cornwall. We had fun at the other two, but Powderham was our ideal.
Anyone who has been there will know what I mean. There are only 70 pitches, the facilities are basic but clean, the childrens' play area was good. The whole place was quiet and genteel - in contrast to the 500-odd pitch fields which were great for a weekend, but not the kind of place we'd want to spend more than a night or two.
My question is - how can we find more sites like Powderham Castle? What's the most genteel campsite you've ever stayed at?
Anyone willing to share their secrets?
