Thanks everyone,
He does take his laptop connected to his mobile phone which is fine for checking everything is OK and emails. But sometimes needs to log on for some time so would be cheaper to use WIC. It doesn't happen very often but it would make it easier for me to get him in a tent if the site has it.
Loved the idea of driving around looking for WIC. I can just see him driving around in a panic trying to find a connection!!
