The best and nearest site to the NEC, unless anyone knows better, is Somers Wood at Meriden, barely 10 minutes drive from the NEC, and a good direct run into the West car park!
However, regarding public transport, you could ring them and enquire as to whether there's a bus service going through Meriden, which is maybe a 10 minute walk away.
The NEC have now sold the west car park next to the foot bridge. I found this out when i pulled up to park on it for the Status Quo concert on May 21st this year.
If you look for any rail station in say 20 mile of the NEC which has link to Birmingham International airport and station would be the best idea and catch the train. Easyier and cheaper than putting fuel in the tank and paying to park. Good luck. Paul.
------------- Leeds go marching on on on ON ON ON on on on
There is a CC site at chapel lane in Wythall (j3 M42), about 15mins from the NEC down the M42. Nice country side too and a bus museum close by as well (if you like that sort of thing)
