Use CC or C&CC sites or others with good toilet/shower facilities and seek your entertainment elsewhere. Many of these sites have play areas for children, some a ball games area.

"" Well, some of the best behaved, considerate & polite kids I've met, certainly didn't come from 'posh' families, just normal ordinary working people... Yet, some of the most obnoxious 'little darlings' I've had the displeasure to meet, come from families with an "educated" and "advantaged" background, which you might term 'posh'...
Whether a family is from a 'posh' or 'ordinary' background has little bearing on how your kids turn out. More important is whether you know right from wrong, how to behave and show respect for others; then have the parenting ability to pass that on to your children""
How I agree with the above. We are a working class family (now)- albeit snobby ones(!) who have focussed on spending quality time bring up my twins properly. In more affluent times we ran with a different pack and many of the children were badly behaved to say the least! Perhaps that is what influenced me to bring up my twins the way I have. At 15 years of age, they have respect for me and for other adults and for their surroundings. They havn't been ruled with an iron rod, but merely taught what is right and wrong. I am proud to be their mum and smile with pride when people comment on their behavour - and no, they are not dull kids - they surf, snowboard, go to festivals and need a jolly good haircut
They also love camping - I hated it at their age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vickit, you have hit the nail on the head. You are absolutely spot on. Centre Parcs for tourers. This is what I want. Outdoor pursuits if the weather permits but with option to stay inside if the weather is poor.
OK so I know it is not everybodys cup of tea (me, I drink Yorkshire Gold) but I have had many fantastic breaks at Centre Parcs, without the so called 'yob culture'. No stags or hens, 'cept for maybe a few group of girls looking to be pampered.
Happy families out with thier children enjoying nature.
I know there is a site near Centre Parc Longleat, and I also know you can get Day Passes into Centre Parcs, but somehow it's not quite the same as having it all on your doorstep.

In my opinion, obnoxious families don't like to get out and about and explore, they need the all singing all dancing sites so parents can get boozed up and kids can run riot. Children shouldn't need all the play facilities, they should be eccouraged to use their imaginations. (From one with no kids, but I was young once, a long time ago).
Wow, what a sweeping statement; and one that can't be allowed to go unchallenged!
I camp with my Grandchildren who are extremely well behaved, we go to mainly C&CC sites, but occasionally as a treat for them we go to a Haven site, purely for the nightly entertainment; during the day we explore the local area.
They do not run riot, they are not disrepectful of others, further more I am teetotal.
To my mind it just shows that you are an inverted snob with a poor view of others if they don't live up to your ideals.
Call me aTtroll if you like, but when you insult someone, you should expect it to be objected to.
I have also often thought that site with excellent woodland facilities, all mod cons and a bit of entertainment a la Centre Parcs would go down a treat. (no Crepe bars though please)
There is a nudist caravan park right next to our storage in Wickwar and from the aerial views in "windows live local" it does look very nice, with well manicured lawns, little private pitches, a pool, barbi area and two tennis courts. It takes about twenty or so vans.
The photos do not do the place justice, I'm sure it would be better in the flesh.
I am tying to persuade Mrs Ulti-Mate to give it a go one week-end.

I did not mean to be insulting and you can call me an inverted snob any time. Obviously not everyone who goes to these sites is going to be as I described.
