"the problem with billing is the area that its in, not a very savoury part of northampton and so attracts the wrong sort of locals for a peaceful site." I live a stones throw from billing aquadrome in great billing village and I can assure you the area around the aquadrome isnt all unsavoury have you lived in this area goldenby?? I find your comment very rude!! Billing aquadrome has been going down hill for years it is stuck in the 80's and drastically needs revamping which is now happening I for one will pleased if it no longer holds large rallies as it clogs up the local roads.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
You know when reading these posts, it is clear that from Mon-Fri the aquadrome CAN be and IS quiet, peacefull and scenic. If you close your nostrils as you pass by the sewage works (two minutes from main gate) and close your eyes as you pass by derelict buidings (1 min from main gate) and then as you enter, close your ears to the tannoy from the used car lot on A45, you have before you, what COULD be a very nice site.
we stayed in Billing Aquadrome August this year as my sister lives in Norhampton we thought we could get our camping holiday and family visits at the same time, we lasted one night before packing up and squashing ourselves into my poor sisters house, the camp was awful it was dirty, unfriendly and the staff less than helpful never again, we enjoyed our stay in Northampton but as for Billing my advice don't bother, although we;re realitivly new to camping other sites we have stayed at everyone was very helpful and friendly if this had been the first site we would have stayed at i think it would have put me off camping for life.
Im hoping by saying whats going on now in Billing Aquadrome that the new mangment well look into the on going problems. We have been camping at Billing for years , such a shame thats its gone this way.
Untill people vote with their feet, then the new owners will have to do something to put it right. After all if you go to a shop and get bad service you don't go there again.

Shouldn't everyone wait and see what the new improvements are going to be before writing it off completely, apparently the new owners are not novices.
We have been waiting nearly two years now. Everything like the little cafe and small indoor market area were closed down two summers ago to make way for improvement, the only improvement made was for race boys to be allowed in. In these two years NOTHING has been improved and the new owners do not seem to bothered. In the earlier posts all the trouble has started from when the site was taken over by "not novice" owners. As for the surrounding area we have been out and about round Billing and thought it was quite nice so I do not think its the area its in, its just the louts who frequent the place and make it a living hell for holiday makers. (IMO)
Sorry! Think i have offended some people and i didnt mean too. I love northants, lived here for most of my adult life and would recommend it to visitors without question. Im sorry to have caused offence to some, there are, of course, good areas and bad areas everywhere, some lovely villages round near Billing and also some not so nice areas particluarly towards the eastern districts. Thats all i meant in my earlier posting.
I did post an apology yesterday but its not been allowed so here goes with this one!

In that case then perhaps their eyes are on development, there's no quicker way to win support from a council if they can be convinced it is for the best.
