I got a good deal at Haven's Lakeland site. £48 for 4 nights on a tent pitch (no EHU - it was £68 on a tourer with EHU). I know that these sites aren't everyones cup of tea - but I find them great for the kids. With swimming pool and on site childrens entertainment included at that price I'm not complaining. My children aged 5 & 8 will have £10 amount to spend on Rory and Bradley bits and thats it. If its nice we will explore the Lakes, if the weather is bad, well if it keeps two youngsters amused I am willing to put up with the corney jokes etc of the children's shows.
Obnoxious 'orrible places with artificial entertainment for epople who can't be assed to entertain their kids themselves
Far better to go to a wooded site and teach your kids about nature ,I bet they would love it far more than any ponce in a suit!
Your are forgetting that it's bloody dark by 5pm at that time of year and watching any ponce in asuit is better than being cooped up in a caravan with bored kids all evening!!
BTW we have been to Oakdene for the past 2 years for October Half Term, very good value for money at under £100 for the week on a fully serviced pitch.
Check when your October half term holiday is because ours is a week later than most areas so we cannot have our normal week at great yarmouth as the site closes on the weekend my kids break up.
If it's the Park Resorts at Camber Sands - I wouldn't bother. Not a very nice camping area. Entertainment hall very smokey. Swimming pools are ok though. Shame really as Camber Sands beaches are lovely and it's a nice area to visit with Rye and Hastings nearby. If it's Pontins at Camber Sands - again, personally I wouldn't bother. Went there once for a £40 holiday and felt we were done. Had to ask them to replace sofa as it was so disgusting.
Haven at Bexhill is nice for kids (Coombe Haven) but no camping there - only caravans for hire. My kids love it there and we've been lots of times - might try to get there ourselves in October.
Good luck.
