Hi guys

Well, we had a great time on our recent trip. Had last friday & saturday nights at fisherground in eskdale, cumbria. Then on sunday we drove up to fort william, scotland to stay at glen nevis holiday park staying sunday, monday and tuesday nights.

Fisherground was lovely, setting is great and alison and mick are great hosts, really friendly and helpful. Thought the allowing of campfires in the wheelrims was brilliant, thatwas until the wind got up and was constantly swirling the smoke at us all the time. Jeez our clothes stunk next morning !!!! good job we had loads more with us !! One thing you gotta do if you get to this part of the country is drive over the hardknott and wrynose passes -  one follows the other, they are wild !!! hardknott is the steepest pass in england , they are unbelievable.

Glen Nevis has simply got to be the best site we have ever been to. The setting is sooooo beautiful. The ameneties are fantastic. Great bar & restaurant 5 minute walk away. The area is stunning, we had a great time going up the gondola of Anoch Mor, the mountain next to Ben Nevis, the views are fabulous. I would urge you , give this site a try. It didn't get best site in Scotland for 2006 for nowt !

So I'll be off now to post a review.

Cheers

Glen Nevis site is great, but why doesn't it open during the winter, when Scotland is at it's finest

Or perhaps it is open in the winter?

Hi Gorjulin

We went on Hard Knot and Wrynose Pass, it must be the most scary road I have been on. I was petrified going over this road and infact I didn't even look as I couldn't, I just kept my head in the map book pretending I was finding a route. I am just glad I wasn't driving but as Gorjulin says you just have to do it if you are up there. - thrilling!!!!!!!!
