Nay, nay, never Glen Trothy again!
My advice: avoid this site like the plague!
I visited this site annually since 1990. The previous owners were nice and helpful people.
Since the last 5 years the site is owned by Horace and Merle Price who both are misanthropes.
I live in The Netherlands and I took a season pitch on this site because I made many friends on the site and in the village of Mitchel Troy.
When I retired I took a season pitch and travelled up and down to spend many weeks with my friends together with my wife. I had the season pitch from 2003-2005.
But the owners have their sometimes weird rules and regulations which they try to impose on their guests.
As a liberal Dutchman I questioned some rules and the only answer I got was: "I'm not going to argue with you and if you don't like it p*** off and go elsewhere".
Matters got worse and worse through the years and especially during our last two months in 2005 Horace Price went into great length trying to get me angry and this also upset my wife so much that she was sometimes in tears and we both had restless nights where we could hardly sleep.
In September Horace Price vandalised my caravan by writing on it with a felt pen and cut off our water supply and electricity. Merle Price is a pathological liar whose main hobby is writing malicious and libellous letters and spreading gossip and backbiting on the site.
During the 3 seasons we were here, we have seen many people (also season pitchers) leave untimely because of the way they were treated and the constant verbal abuse and even threats from Horace Price.
Never ever a refund was given on those occasions.
These people are only after your money!

P.S. Starting the 2006 season we have a season pitch at a beautiful site on the banks of the river Wye called Lucksall in Mordiford near Hereford with nice and friendly proprietors Gary and Deborah Williams.

We went and had a look at this site last year and didn't like the look of it, there is a much nicer one a little further down the road. I can't remember the name of it, it may have been "Bridge". Sorry you have had such a bad time, good on you for getting the word out. I hate it when campsites treat people like this. We had a bad time on a trip to "Sunnyglen" Tenby in a rented static van, it's part of Sunnyvale run by Howells Leisure. It's a long story and must get round to putting it on this site sometime.
hi there i had experience of this site and it was to only pick up a caravan that i had bought and that was on there for the season which i may add was paid for full season this year and this was june so the owner of the site has made a good profit well anyway on arriving the owner came out ranting like a mad woman because the person that we bought caravan of let us onto site.I couldnt believe it talk about rude and we had only driven through a gate.We got to caravan and started to pack it away ready to move and she started ranting again because the previous owner and us were parked on the same bit of grass. All we was trying to do was hitch up lol what i saw was a lovely site what i witnessed was something like posessed i would never go there again even tho we were actually entitled to stop on there i couldnt wait to get of never packed so quick in my life lol.How people get away with this behaviour i will never know.Ask for the rule book in advance you will need to digest it fully make sure that the ask if it is ok to breath been on numerous sites its a good job i knew this was unusual could have put me of for life
Thank you for reacting on my review on Glen Trothy.
I you google: Glen Trothy Review, you will find many more; the favourable ones are written by the owners themselves.
Happy camping,
Sincerely,
Gerrit Fianen
