Hi mwall4,
Welcome to ukcs, have you looked in the campsite search, there will be loads of sites on there. We`ve only ever stayed at Longnor Wood in the Peak district, it`s a lovely peaceful site,it`s adults only though. If you don`t get much response you could try posting this on the Caravan and Campsite message board,
Sue

Hi mwall4
We can really recommend Rivendale, set in the heart of the peak district. It's on the campsite search. Their facilities are very good , if you are going soon, you'll be pleased to hear that the shower block has underfloor heating , so it's really nice, even when it's cold outside !!
DO TAKE ROCK PEGS !!! It's set in a disused quarry, so the topsoil & grass are only on top of the hard quarry stone base. Go without and you'll be sorry, believe me 1st time there, we were !! 2 dozen bent pegs later.
a deffo "must do" is the Dovedale walk, so beautiful.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Cottage farm near Blackwell in the peak is a good basic site.
The caravan club at Castleton take some tents, toilets and showers are nice there.

Camping and Caravaning Club has a site at Hayfield - no electric hookup, just good toilet/shower facilities - lovely scenery.------------- No, really?!

I love Longnor Wood too. It has lovely views. Can get a litle windy due to the high level of the camp but it's worth it. 1 mile walk into village with nice pubs.

To get away from it all our favourite is Packhorse Farm in Tansley near Matlock. I don't think that the loo block will be open now though as they close them for the winter. Its a quiet site and the owner is lovely. Nothing for children though!

you can't go wrong with 'lickpenny' near matlock, lovelly site with great amenities, and central for visiting the peaks towns.failing that i would also recommend 'longnor wood' really quiet site, great views, bit of a challenge to get to "how steep"? but once you get there your'e nearest neighbour is God.------------- "cos i'm as free as a bird"
