Family (Wife and I, children 6 and 2) tend to stick to the same campsites (Oban or Islay)but next year are hoping to visit Cornwall. Can anyone recommend a good site?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
If you can go before the English school holidays you can take advantage of the cheaper prices at Tregarton Park near Mevagissey. Read the reviews and you will find only praise for the facilities and the staff.
My wife and I were there in early June and camped for £5.95 a night with EHU.
Hi Judge Fudge and welcome to UKCS a most addictive website. Unfortunatley you posted this in the wrong forum, so dont be worried when the webmaster moves this post to the campsite forum. If you take a look at the campsite search facility (Button at top of page) and put in Cornwall, this will display all sites held by UKCS along with members reviews. Or just hit URL below for Cornwall.
The site is beautiful, a nice play area for kids, a small stream runs through the middle, great for paddling. As far as I am aware there is no club house, very peaceful. The site is easy to find, with good access to a level area about 3 acres. The toilets were spotless.

Please can you tell me why the webmaster would move this posting and where he would move it to? After all Judgefudge is asking about sites in the UK in the UK sites section of the forum......
By the way Judgefudge, Polmanter at St Ives, Cornwall is a site we would not hesitate in recommending.
went to polmanter this year and have booked for next year. it is a lovely site situated above st ives nice walk into st ives and they also have a bus service which is very handy. the site is spotless.
Hi Vic Wildish, this post was originally posted on the Tents section of this website so that is why I warned this new member to UKCS not to be alarmed when the post would have been moved to the Campsite forum...

I meant to say welcome earlier but I forgot (old age so they say). I notice your location is Lanarkshire so we might be neighbours. My postcode begins ML1

Hi Judge Fudge, I think you've asked a most difficult question. There are so many sites in Cornwall that people will recommend, it totally depends what you want from the site there are many commercial sites that are expensive but have a number of facilities that justify the price. There are a number that are near or fairly close to a beach. I think the best option would be to state what you are actually looking for from the site and then you may get more definitive answers.
