Yes people do buy holiday caravans there but as far as i know they cannot hire them out. If you are wanting to go in the summer holidays i am going there for spring bank so i could try and make some enquiries whilst i am there.
The area around the 'Vauxhall' site could become a bit busy soon. There's a project on the drawing table at the moment, called the 'Bure loop' scheme, which involves a new road and bridge crossing the marshes & River Bure to join Caister (and N. Gt. Yarmouth) from the Acle straight (A47). It will include the building of a new industrial area and the 'excavation' of a huge new 'Broad', for sailing (Olympics 2012) and nature conservation...
It never was a particularly quiet & peaceful site in my opinion, but it seems (if the project goes ahead) that it will become even less so in the future...

This is certainly news to me as I have a work coleage who lives in Yarmouth and always keeps me informed of the latest developments within the town so i will ask him about this when i see him after the crimbo hols. I wouldn't be suprised if this does go ahead because lots of improvments are being made to yarmouth and I do think that if this plan would harm Vauxhall Holiday Park in any way I don't think it would be allowed to go ahead because this park is one of Yarmouths finest assets and is one of the best sites I have ever been to and I return year after year because there is nothing to touch it in the area. Even though there is the busy A47 running right past the entrance the noise inside the park is minimal and you have to expect a little noise because it is a family park after all.

Good news chaps, the so called 'Bure Valley Project' will most likely not go ahead for many years to come (maybe not even in most of our lifetimes) because of the old enemy - money, so there is nothing to worry about for potential visitors to Vauxhall Holiday Park. I have spoken to my work coleage, who lives in yarmouth, and he has told me that next year the borough council is concentrating on the outer harbour project so that will be an improvement that will enhance rather than spoil Yarmouth.
Good to hear and thanks for the update. A message if any developments would be appreciated.
Something is needed to improve Yarmouth and keep the tourists coming in. As much as i love the place it has gone slightly downhill in the 30+ years i have been visiting.
Booked for two weeks from 14th July on hardstanding EP139. have been many times before but in a static, always found the site great and plenty to do in surrounding area.
Has anybody any idea how big the pitches are as i didn't take much notice when we last visited.
many thanks

When you book, specify the size of caravan and they will find you a pitch to suit. I have a 20ft long van and the pitch we had at August bank was plenty big enough but just a little hard to get in and out of with the car attatched! but there is always plenty of willing helpers around so its not so bad.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
