Its situated in the forest so has lots of walks/tracks etc direct from site so ideal for walking/biking.
The site has outdoor pool/play area and plenty of space for children to let off steam. The site loos/showers are immaculate and there is a small onsite shop. Not too far away is the town of Wareham for shopping/supplies etc and if you want beaches - swanage, studland bay, bournemouth etc are not far away.
For days out - Monkey world and Bovington tank museum are close (during the summer the tank museum hold feature days where they reinact displays - firing the tanks etc which our young nephews loved)
I would say wareham forest is an ideal site for an active/outdoor type family, bear in mind its not glitzy and there's no entertainment.

hi warehamforest or oakdene are all good. also sandford in pool looks good they have just spent millions on it doing it up too so all new for this season
we're going to rowlands wait at bere regis - not been there myself but the family we are travelling with went 2 years ago and enjoyed there stay. the reviews look good also.
Hi we visited West bay a park resorts site in Dorset last year and had a great family holiday. Site all singing all dancing but the pitches are overlooking the bay and are a little way from the activities giving you a quieter time when needed. It was only a few minutes walk from the beach too. We enjoyed it and the kids loved the pool disco etc.
------------- With love Donna xx
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I've been to Rowlands Wait and West bay, both good sites but i'd say if you don't want to get in the car and drive , West Bay would be the best of the two
bagwell Farm Chickerell Weymouth is fantastic it has fantastic Views of the fleet and chesil beach lovely family pub in converted Barn, Pets corner, games room and play area and is also dog friendly with it's own special doogie toilet field, has well stocked shop and large well spaced out pitches, also has a regular bus service into Weymouth at a very reasonable price would reccomend the bus as carparking in Weymouth is rather expensive.
