Im after a clean, not too expensive site in Northumberland, preferably near to the sea (well within about 20 mins drive). Would like decent toilet block and a play area for the kids, maybe a shop, not bothered about pub, entertainment, etc. Also, helpful wardens would be a big plus. Oh, and must take dogs.
Looked on here at the reviews but not knowing the area too well wondered if anyone can recommend something decent.
Thanks, Ange x
------------- why is there so much month left at the end of the money?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
erm, the sea, lol, i dunno, just interesting places i suppose, castles and things like that, and villages to walk around and have a nosey, stuff like that

try warren mill its on the campsite search, its a nice site has a shop, kids play area a small pub which does meals and excepts dogs.it very near to seahouses, bamburgh +castle and is very reasonable
There is tons to see - if you were to go somewhere like Beadnell (there is a campsite there)\Warren mill area you are close to Bamburgh Castle and within a drive to Alnwick - a lovely town with a fab castle. Both of these are on the coast and have spectacular views.
As fatlad says, Berwick is right on the Scottish Border - again at the coast. It has a really interesting history (if you like that kind of thing) as it has been both part of Scotland and part of England, and has a lot of military history. You can walk the town walls which is lovely on a clear day. Driving to Alnwick is easily doable from Berwick as is going to Kelso and Floors Castle which IMO is one fo the nicest castles to visit with fantastic walks along the tweed.
More inland I've heard really good reviews about Breamish at Powburn although I've never visited as we live quite close to here. Its then a drive to the coast from here but you are qutie close to both Alnwick and Morpeth ( a market town - very nice). Also not far from Rothbury and Cragside hall.
Holy Island is a great place - you drive a cross the causeway to an island which gets cut of by water - make sure you find the crossing times before you go. Every year someone tries to chance crossing it and every year they have to be rescued !!
Its a fab county to visit and has a huge amount of things to do - i hope you enjoy it. This will give you more ideas:
P.S. Meant to say - wherever you go, try and see Bamburgh Castle, just noticed the pic on your signature and if you like that I think you'll find Bamburgh right up your street !
