I wouldnt go to Burns farm during high season or BH weekend. It might be ok at other times but the  BH weekend we were there I counted 90 tents before I gave up. She is only licenced for 32. You can read the reviews here and a lot of people have said the same thing. The bins were overflowing and there were long queues for washing up and showers. If you are thinking of a quiet weekend out of season then its probably ok. Facilities were fine and the situation and views are lovely when they are not obscured by tents and cars everywhere.

From what i saw driving back from castlerigg las year they don't allow an awful lot of space between units, which put me off.

Can't comment on Ulswater...

hi

We have been going to Ullswater Marine Park for about 10years now and off.  The site is family run and they will do anything to try and help with your stay.  There is a little shop that supplies your basic needs. It also has a club house which has a seperate room for the children to play games or watch t.v. in the lounge.  Very clean and pleasant amenities although could do with up dating.  There is also a park for children.  Every thing on park is reasonably priced.

Remember the first time we visited was on a motorbike and we had just gone out for the day, but decided to find b&b, but everywhere booked up out of desperation we tried this campsite knowing they did cottages to let.  The owners where extremly kind and helpful and let us stay in a static for the night and didn't charge silly prices.  They also sorted us out with everything we needed for the night.
