I wonder if anyone here can help me? I am considering membership to the National Trust and am trying to find out if this would qualify me for any discounts on their Sites......
I have phoned them directly but the chap I spoke to wasn't too sure but seemed to think I should be able to use them for free although as I say didn't seem to sure on what he was saying.....
I proceeded to phone two Sites in the Lake District and they both said I would recieve no discount something to do with the way the national Trust 'enterprise' is run........
Has anyone any experience with this who could advise please?

As I understand it, membership of the NT only entitles you to stay on the site. No discounts as such. A number are run with the caravan club. Only seen Houghton Mill, Ilam and Wastwater. All look very good. Sorry, not experienced them first hand. I am sure you will enjoy.
I'm a NT member and to be honest i've never heard that you can stay on their sites for free oir even at a discounted rate. I have to say though that we find it well worth the membership fee (cheaper if you apply online) for the amount of places you can take the kids. Only a few miles away we have Belton House which has the largest adventure playground in Lincolnshire and we go there quite a few times a month. We also tend to plan our holidays around the NT properties but i have to admit that i'm very biased as i'm a heritage degree student and my kids have been brought up to be fascinated by history and heritage!
i have just taken a look at their prices here and they look pretty decent.

I didn't know you got free car-parking ... we were put off going to Studland Beach a couple of years ago as we arrived mid-afternoon and the charge was still the all-day charge of £5 to park. We love being NT members as there are a couple locally we can just wander around the gardens in, which the children love and we usually find 1 or 2 to visit when away on holiday. Lovely way to introduce the children to living culture and heritage. I've also looked at the campsites, brilliant locations, but usually need a loo, which we haven't got.
