Can any one recommend sandy beaches suitable for young children in North Wales or north west of England. I have a friend who wnats to go but wants to use a cottage or something similar.

have you considered Anglesey its got beautiful beaches all around

I will second that, there are some fantastic beaches there.
Benllech is fantastic for young children.

Anglesey, there is a lovely beach near Valley of the Rocks site, and plenty of others.

Another vote for Anglesey, we are going over the easter period. Some of the best beaches are Benllech,Treadurr Bay and Red Wharf. Lots for kids to do on the Island as well, and its only about 2 hours drive away.

Are we allowed to mention campsites next to beaches
if so try Shell Island it will be out 20th year this year has changed but still cannot be beaten one great advantage is once there its no walking to the sea, no need to use the car
