We went to cornwall last august - father in law adivsed us to just forget the early starts - leave at 10.30am and we will be fine.

What a brill bit of advice for us because on the day we travelled a chocolate van crashed on the M5 and went on fire - M5 closed and needed to be refsurfaced  the delays were terrible according to the radio.

We approaced that stretch of motorway after leaving at 10.30am- open - sailed thro !!

So on that occasion it worked for us - this year we are doing an overnight stay - we was just too tired - dont want to have any negative thoughts about our holiday so going to stop overnight in a little cheap tesco tent - bit of fruit, big cup of tea and a fresh start to the day and lots of energy at the other end.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Well it looks like we will set off at Midnight and take a slow drive down, Debbie is confident to tow on the motorway so i will get some sleep, also i plan to work from home on Thursday so will sneak some sleep. We are so looking forward to a break.

Anyway thanks for all your comments, hope you all have safe journeys to your destinations and enjoy your breaks
