Thought I'd finish my 20+ years of occasional posting here with some pics of the last 2 trips of the year. Full retirement beckons & more backpacking & a bigger campervan for longer trips. All the best to everyone here for 2025 onwards

We retired 10 years ago, and apart from the huge drop in income don't regret it for a moment. Now we only get up when we feel like it, and after many years of extreme shift-work that is fantastic. We go where we want to go, when we want to go, and that is great too. We never go anywhere in November or December though unless it is to somewhere abroad that is warm and sunny, but we haven't done that in many years.
We live in a nice area, so during school holidays when everywhere is crowded and expensive, our back garden is definitely the place to be. In the winter months when the weather outside is horrible, indoors with a good book is just perfect.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
