Campsites are very prolific in France. However, the further south you go, the later many open - some not until June or July. Information is usually available in a limited way from the specific Department, and sometimes from the region, only, so try online searches for your areas. The general listings tend to be of family holiday camps, eg Eurocamp, which have rentals as well as touring pitches. Municipal sites are least expensive and of varying standards. Sometimes the local site is alongside a sports ground.
