Hi, I have a camper van with 5inch med firm custom made seats that make our small double bed. Frame is slats. While the idea is good I find the mattress too firm and at 67, my hips don't like the firmness. So, for practical (storage) issues, is a mattress topper or a thinnish double SIM on top of the mattress or under, the better option?
Any ideas please?
Thanks
I don't have an answer I'm afraid, I'm just interested in the same thing!
I know the mattress in our new folding camper will be too firm for my dodgy hip. I've bought a soft topper (Silentnight), not foam but more like a thick duvet to try, but then I thought maybe a SIM? I sleep well on a camp bed SIM combo, so it might work better. I had a quick look at doubles, but found they are all too wide, it would have to be two singles, and even then the thickest ones seem to be wider. So although the SIM sounds like a great idea, I might have to stick with a topper just to get the size.
Our maiden voyage is in a couple of weeks, I'll report back on the topper!
Try 2 single Duvalay Compact mattress toppers. They make a huge difference and can be rolled up and stowed away(carry bags not included but available as optional extras) when not required. Just 2.5cm thick, available in 58cm, 66cm, 77cm or 122 cm wide.
Have heard of those duralay toppers!
I'm probably having a night out at end of the week so will get husband to dig the SIM out so I can trial one! Good luck with your adventures!
