camper using a cadac camping stove for the first time. Excited to try it as it arrived with the regulator and canister today. EN417 type. I carried out the soapy water test for leaks as I've read to before use and unfortunately I'm getting lots of foaming, it looks like it comes from under the lip of the canister, however this only happens when the regulator is connected. (Image included in the post) Without the regulator connected there is no foaming when I test the same area. I've tried disconnecting, reconnecting, re tightening, everything I can find suggested online. There is no visible damage to the regulator o ring or threads or the cannister valve. Is this just a case of buying both a new cannister and regulator and testing each again to see which one is faulty? Any advice would be appreciated, I can't find any videos or examples online that really help me understand this. Most show huge bubbles forming in the tests not this foaming. I'd really love to be able to try the stove out next weekend when I'm camping, but don't really feel like it's safe to do so until I know more about this.
Thank you in advance.
Try it on another cannister if possible from another batch (different shop).
Replace the rubber "O" ring anyway.
Butane/propane are heavier than air and if leaking will displace air at ground level in your tent. It is non toxic but but does not support life, unless you sleep on a camp bed you will be inhaling gas in your sleep, if there is a spark your tent will explode.
If in doubt buy a new stove from another brand, don't mess about, it's only money!
That is the one we bought it's a cadac and says it's compatible with the stove and the 500 canister. I've checked the packaging and it's definitely that one theyve sent. I can't find one with a blue top like this, is it possibly not just an older version of it.
