Hi everyone. I would like some advice on the best low cost, low maintainence inflatable windbreak at the moment. I've just come back from a few nights in Hereford and tried pumping up a Eurohike inflatable windreak with a handheld electric pump. I decided not to use the pump where you push down two levers. When I used the electric one, unfortunately, it did not stay up. Has anyone had any problems with this particular windbreak at all?
I have the Vango inflatable windbreaks, they are very good and are really sturdy in the wind but I dont use a hand pump. I have an Outdoor master Shark SUP pump. It is very good and really quick at pumping the tent up and any other stuff I bring along
It probably depends on the pump. The sort of pump you use for a paddling pool won’t work for camping gear: it usually needs to go to a much higher pressure (1.5 to 2 bar, or 20 - 30psi iirc). Car tyre pumps aren’t designed for that sort of volume involved, and lilo pumps don’t manage the pressure. Pumps that handle both are kinda niche
I’ve had very positive outcomes with an Outdoor Revolution Presta windbreak. Their design seems to have been copied by a few other manufacturers now. Basically the panels operate a bit like an umbrella and it’s self-supporting before you guy it out. Pack size is big, but it might do what you need.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
