I had a look online, and it looks like there are 2 models.
I personally would not use the frame that stands on 4 legs / feet, because all the weight & any wobble will go down through the pole ends & risk puncturing the tent floor (or sinking into grass). We don’t have camping chairs like this for the same reason.
However, the frame that forms a rectangular unit, with bars linking the front & back legs, will transfer the weight & movement over a broad base; it looks more stable & better for the tent floor / won’t sink into grass. Our camping chairs have this same bar.
I don’t have direct experience of camping bunk beds, I must stress. We have adult wooden bunk beds at home for visiting teenage nephews.
A bunk bed when packed must take up more space and weight than a 3 man tent, I would suggest you get a 3 man tent and put the grand kids in it.
I have destroyed far to many camp chairs over the years, I would assume that a camp bunk bed would use the same technology so not last long and be dangerous at the point of collapse.
Imagine telling your grand children that their camp bunk beds are very delicate and unstable so they are not allowed to play on them or move suddenly in their sleep.
If there is space for a camp bunk bed unit in the tent sleeping room there probably room for the 2 kids to sleep side by side on foam mats or SIPS.

i wouldnt be buying any thats for sure! i pressume your talking about the ones for a tent? unless you know the ground is perfectly level and flat.
and yes they are only for kids, not grand dads!
I've got my bed sorted, but two extra grandkids 9 and 6 this year. Interlocking foam mats under the bed feet to protect groundsheet.

My friends reckon I should be certified anyway. And they should know!!
i wasnt taking about protection for your ground sheet, it was more for the fact that the bunk bed will move unless its on perfectly flat ground, and apart from that in a tent the side slope inwards, a bunk bed is going to be so far away from the walls, on the floor, that it really wouldnt save you anything space wise and might aswell just use normal air beds
