I bought some years ago to use as floor covering in the bedroom of my tent. Very comfortable underfoot, great insulation under the airbed, and good puncture protection for the SIG. One pack was sufficient for my 3-berth bedroom.
I found packing them into a 'cube' also worked well for transport, but benefit of being able to split into smaller packs that could be distributed around car/roof box, or even used to provide a bit of padding to stop stuff moving/rattling or chaffing on say boot area upholstery.
We had some, but OH stuck them to the garage walls. The Hyundai is actually wider than the Mitsubishi which was a surprise, he was worried about bumping the car.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I gave all mine away when I was selling my tenting gears, thinking I would not need them as I would always stay on hardstanding pitches.
Should have kept a couple, DOH!

Are in Aldi ATM. Black or green, 60cm square. £12.99 for a pack of 6. We only went to buy meat...
We have had them for several years. Most are on the garage floor to keep stuff dry. We keep three in the caravan. One goes under the caravan step to stop it sinking in on muddy ground.
We pegged 3 Aldi mats (£4.99 on clearance) outside our caravan door in the storage yard as there always seems to be a puddle there. We went away for 3 months over the winter and came back to find the mats gone but, all 12 pins were left in a neat little pile!!!
I have these mats on the garage floor for insulation. I could take some to put down in the awning, as i have plenty of luggage space. But, its where do you draw the line when it comes to carting/erecting/installing kit? The mrs moaned about our 'seaside' windbreak saying it looked like a punch and judy stall. So, against my instincts, i shelled out for a 'posh' one. The ones with metal poles and guys - which ive always steered clear of for all the faff they are pegging out etc. I got around this by also buying four 18inch 'road pins', that ive painted up. These now bang in the ground at pole intervals, the poles slide over them, and no guys. Works a treat. But, im carting extra gear for the same result of having a windbreak.

Someone stole my little rubber cap that fits over my 12 pin socket. I know it was adjacent to my hitch at the storage site, so it was obvious whos it was. The right thing would have been to stick it under the hitch cover to be found next time. Nope. They swiped it.
A walker/hiker took a chunk out of a brand new tub of butter that was left on the table by my kitchen stand under the integral canopy of my Dutch pyramid one early morning while I was still asleep.
That was at Glencoe C&CC in 2012, and was the only theft I have encountered to date.
