Saw them in Asda yesterday, 1.00 GBP for a dinner plate, 0.75 GBP for a side plate or bowl; which makes 2.50 GBP for a place setting of 3 without a mug.

When I first got the caravan, I used the melamine set I'd used for tent camping, but found the fact that I couldn't put it in the microwave annoying, so I looked for a cheap ceramic set, found a 4 place setting boxed set in Asda that looks very similar, for something silly like £8 or £9, so went for that on the basis of if it got broken it was cheap enough to replace. It's been fine, and no where near as cheap and nasty as the price may make you think! Didn't have any mugs in it, but I had a surplus of mugs at home anyway, so took some of them up to van.
It's not as heavy as many crockery sets, so it's not a great burden on my fairly meagre load allowance. Items are also slightly on the small side, so it fits the caravan cupboards very well.
I kept the original packing box, and repack the crockery for transit so it's not rattling around loose when on the road.
