Update on the Aldi screw in pegs, worked brilliant apart from one small fault with them, as you drive them in with the drill the black toggle part is not loose this causes the toggle to spin with the shaft catching the rubber ladder on the awning, back home now problem solved by tapping the toggle off the shaft & reaming it out with a drill bit, hopefully this should work better

Yes that can happen, some of mine did that. When it happened to me it was only a few of them, and I just held the awning away and screwed the peg in. Then I hooked the rubber bit onto the peg.
The plastic toggle part on my screw in pegs is not loose, and I believe it is designed that way.

Hi all
All 30 of the toggles were captivated onto the shaft, when I knocked them off there was a knurled bit under the toggle to stop it turning, I have now reamed the toggle out with a drill bit making the hole oversized so the shaft will turn as you drill it into the ground but the toggle is loose so I’m hoping this will stop it fouling the awning skirt or the awning rubber ladder, I will update the next time I use them

My solution to that problem was to leave the screw pegs alone and reserve for use on guys etc. where you drive them in before hooking guy over, and buy some straightforward cheap and cheerful coach screws and penny washers for use on the ladder straps, no problem with them snagging strap as you drive them in.
