Morning All
Probably a subject that has been covered a number of times.
We have brought a new to us single axle Sterling from a dealer which has no mover on it. Dealer is quoting £1300.00 for a Powertouch auto engage unit does this seem a good price?.
The other one we are considering is a Reich Mover anyone have experiences of either or indeed another make.
Had Powrtouch for a number of years without issue.
Their technical helpline is very good, should you ever need it.
After a quick search I can find that mover fitted for £1150
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Powrtouch offer a 5 year warranty for both parts and labour providing that the issue is not battery related which would be the same policy with all motor mover brands. However, I had a Powrtouch auto engage mover fitted on my caravan back in 2016 which was £1,100 so after 6 years I would say that the price you have been quoted is about right as the price of goods has increased on just about everything recently. The mover is out of warranty now but have had no problems whatsoever since having it fitted so from personal experience I have to recommend Powrtouch.
I had a Powertouch for 16 years, the only problem I had after 12 years was the gearbox drive coupling failed on one motor. The replacement part can be purchased relatively cheaply but it does mean a fair bit of dismantling to do it.

So all in all, a £50 increase in six years is pretty good going.

Yes, our last Hymer van was fitted with Powrtouch mover and the one before that was fitted with Reich. We never had a single problem with the Reich but the Powrtouch gave us a really scary moment on a tiered site near Vichy; we'd travelled through torrential rain and it must have somehow got in the mover so it did not behave at all well.
We were possibly unlucky but, given choice of the two, I'd definitely go for Reich.
