Oh my goodness!

I inherited a pair of very expensive (White Company) cashmere bed socks as a passed on gift from another family member after Christmas.

Not my usual sort of thing at all.

But they will now be part of my essential camping kit. So soft and light you don’t feel them, but so warm and cosy, but also airy, not sweaty. I don’t want to take them off!

Not hardy enough to walk about in.

Socks are a dangerous gateway luxury! I am at risk of the camping shop displays opening up and pushing 10Cm SIMs and all sorts

Meanwhile I am minimising my new luxury habit by imagining the reduction in heating bills due to warm feet.
