I have a Dorema awning that has a door/window at each end and 2 along the front as the majority do.
The beginning of last season I got into rather a pickle with the zippers and I am trying to get sorted out before we put the awning up this year.
On each opening there are 4 zippers which again is petty standard.
Where my problem was last year, for some reason I had removed all the zippers thinking I would remember how to replace them - but to be honest I spent so much time faffing about I made a right pigs ear and only fitted 2 zippers on each opening. I know 2 zippers are fitted back to back and similarly for the other pair. My question is are all zippers (4) fitted onto each window/door or do put them on the awning then slide them round to the stop end of the zip, or would you put 2 on the awning and 2 on the door?
I know this is probably basic to some folk but I seem to have an age related mental block.
Any help appreciated.

All zippers in use, at times you will want top of windows or doors vented with out wind whipping through the awning. For that you need all zippers available.
Sometimes 6in is more than enough.

well i have a dorema porch awning, and there are only 2 zippers on each panel.
both zippers are located at the outer lower ends of the panel, then slid into the awning receivers, then each is zipped up to meet at the top.
as far as i know ,no zippers are removable from the zip. unless you have something i have not seen before.
my other full size awning "Trio" is just the same.
maybe a picture would be helpfull

ah, i think i have just understood what you are saying.
yes there are 4 "moving" parts of the zipper for each panel.
so you start by zipping 2 moving zippers to each end at floor level,
then slide them into the receivers on the awning,
then zip up the two upper zippers (one at each end) and zip them up to the top, to meet at the middle
you can then either zip up the lower zipper to open a door .
or, move the upper zippers towards either side ,to drop the top of the panel for ventilation

Thank you all for the replies.

I think I have sorted it now. I was trying to fit all zippers on at once.I started with 2 on the awnning. zipped it around, placed the other 2 on the window part and joined together. Now I can bring them both round, closing the window and when at the top can open the top for ventilation etc.

Thanks again. Since then I have came across a You tube tutorial showing the same.
