Is it possible to buy roof bags that can fit on a trailer?

I could do with just a little more storage space to transport our camping equipment and don't want the expense of having to purchase the roof bars required to fit to the roof rails my Kia Sportage. I can't risk placing a roof bag straight on to the roof of the car as I have a full length sun roof and can't run the risk of breaking that.

Is there something that will fit on to the top of my 5'x3' trailer that has suitable fixings to secure to the trailer?

The trailer just has a soft cover not a hard top.

TIA

Dave

As long as you can fit two lengths of square or circular tube to the trailer a roof bag will fit. Mine just clamps onto the bars with U bolts,.

I have seen a roof box on a trailer, this may be a possibility.

Some trailers you can buy loads bars for your trailer with a soft cover. I have an erde 142 with a hard lid that I fabricated my own load bars as they the original erde ones are.massovly over priced and I can fabricate my own ones a lot cheaper and stronger.
We had a roof box on ours but now I have added another set of sides to the trailer along with the hard lid we don't need to use the roof box. So that's up for sale and I'm keeping the load bars as a little extra protection on the lid and with them on it makes it easier to see in the side mirrors of the car when on the road.

I got a roof bag from Aldi a couple of years ago and it's been great and a LOT cheaper than the Thule alternative. I use this strapped to a tow bar mounted Thule Easybase.

What about extending the trailer sides upwards with some wooden boards?

I managed to buy a second hand set of sides for our trailer last year on eBay. Extended the sides and added some strengthening bars on to the corners and made it look like a factory finish.had our first trip to Cornwall with it last week and it towed perfect and no different from before. We had a roof box on top the trailer lid before and have done away with that know so the weight is near the same as before.

Thanks for comments. I have opted for the inflatable Handy Rails which can be used on a car with a sunroof, and a Handi Carrier. Both fold down so can be easily stored whilst on holiday and at home by just folding and putting in the trailer. Secured both at very good prices so will be set up nicely.
