Hi there, I have an Omnia camping oven lanuguishing in the garage, which I bought and hid from OH a few years back. It came with the silicon inner thingy as well as the usual base and lid.
Now, I tried it on the kitchen burner to cook part-baked rolls and it sort of worked. I even downloaded the whole recipe book from the internet.
The jury is out on its usefulness, however.
Is this just user/rookie errors, lack of imagination, or have I bought a white elephant that needs to remain in the garage.
Or, can you advocate its utility and brilliance, based on personal experience and, if so, what (and how) you've made using it.
Thank you

Done the rolls and naan breads in mine on both a gas hob in the kitchen and a Trangia 25 with a gas burner. Takes a bit more monitoring but does work. I don't bake so haven't tried that but I did do a little ready made pizza with the middle cut out and it came out ok.

Oh that did make me smile - a doughnut pizza!
Maybe I'll just have to practice and be patient with it, and me.
(Funnily enough, I watched a Mary Berry programme on Saturday by accident rather than design, and she was on a walk with someone who cooked on the hoof. The programme focused on frying up a gourmet snack, but I noticed a second posh backpacker cooker in the background with an Omnia on board. Shame they didn't expand on that. Maybe it went Pete Tong and he also needed to practice...
Thanks both for the comments
