Way back in 2010 someone mentioned a home made tool to open an outside cover on a caravan. (Maybe water related)
The tool was a standard 28mm water pipe about 10cm long and an U shape notch cut out of it about 3cm from one end.
For the life of me i cannot remember what it was used for but the cover it help[ed to open everyone always had issues trying to open it and this bit of pipe worked wonders.
Can anyone remember what it was to open/
Yes! I do remember something. Doesn't apply to my van, no tricky covers to open, so only casual interest from my point of view. Of course, I may not be reminiscing about the same tool!
IIRC, the cover in question had catches that could easily be broken, especially as they aged and embrittled if not opened correctly, but the 'correct' method was not at all easy!
The 'tool' safely opened the cover with minimal risk of damage.
Pretty sure the tricky cover I'm thinking of was the Truma 'Dust Cover' on the heater gas flue outlet.
I put a picture of the one I made onto here some years ago, its used to fit over the tap to fill the aquaroll and a notch so you can remove the heater cover
