In a fashion. My credit card provider found the case in my favour after I forwarded all the documentation, photos and countless emails. Amazon.de contested the claim, stating I had not notified them of faults and damage but the paper trail blew that out of the water. They also claimed that in accepting delivery I had acknowledged satisfactory condition. Only, it had been left on the doorstep when we were out, not examined or otherwise accepted as checked. I was shocked that Amazon.de attempted to shift liability to me, despite our numerous communications (both written and verbal).
The credit card provider said I had to contact Amazon.de and ask them to collect the faulty / damaged fridge on a day and time convenient to me. I did this but got the same response as previously; that I had to return the thing myself.
I then requested to close my Amazon.de account but was advised they could not do so until the faulty/damage fridge had been returned. No matter how many times I advised them the Section 75 claim had been decided against them and funds refunded to my account, their response was that they would again debit my account if I did not return the item, but they would not collect.
I set a date and stated I would dispose of the item if it was not collected, and still they would not collect, so it went to the tip.
It's been a horrible experience, over several months. The credit card company advisor said it was a good job o had not paid the amounts quoted for return of the parcel duty paid because I could not have claimed that back so would have been hugely out of oucket. She said it was the responsibility of the seller to fund full costs of return and as Amazon.de set a limit of under £50 that made the situation unreasonable.
I won't buy from Europe again because of the complications in case of necessary return. This product was both supplied and delivered by amazon.de so I thought it was a safe transaction. Now, I think the post-brexit situation has provided licence to send us cr*p goods, knowing returns by DDP are not financially viable.
Thank goodness I paid by credit card and had evidence to support my claim. There's a lesson learned!
That's good you got refunded then, halfords were selling a 12v only one a few months ago for about £240, think there might have been talk on here about it.
lidds0, good to hear the issue has finally been resolved in your favour after all these months!!!

Beware of Vevor, as I stated in another post about a frdge / cooler, their website looks lovely and British but they actually ship from the West coast of America.
