I was fed up this weekend, went away on Thursday afternoon, blew 3 double airbeds up Campingaz ones'................... had a fab night sleep then noticed that all 3 started to deflate on Friday, didn't think too much about it but come Saturday they were all flat as doormats so OH blew them up (when it was hot may I add...... told him not to but wouldn't listen) when we went to go to bed they were nearly down again, same thing happened on Sunday night .............
Can anyone explain to me why 3 double airbeds would go down like this we had a footprint under our SIG and I put car rugs under the airbeds so nothing sharp so they wouldn't get punctured................ i just don't understand any help, info would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like they`re leaking somewhere. Have they got fast-deflate valves? (These are usually under the mat, and have a screw on section over a rubber bung.) Are the bungs in properly? And do you invert the air-intake valves after you`ve blown up the airbed?
You also don`t need to get near a sharp object to get a leak....there are a lot of welded seams in airbeds,and sometimes they can split. But to be honest if all three are deflating, I suspect it`s down to operator error rather than punctures.
I haven't got a clue to be honest OH is the operator and as you suggest i think it is probably down to him, although he would argue it wasn't. But i can tell you it was damn uncomfortable waking up on hard ground on Sunday and Monday morning. He wanted to throw them all out before we came back yesterday I said no and we are going to test them at home.
Also, air beds are vastly affected by temperature. If you inflate it on a hot day and then it is vastly cooler ( say at night for instance ), the air bed will appear to have deflated. Air is at a higher pressure the hotter it is.
I agree I have found if you wait till late in the evening to inflate the bed it will stay inflated a lot longer.

I use the Argos rubberised cotton airbeds, bit on the heavy side but then they are heavy duty. Mine work fine for about 3 years, then they usually need replacing, no problems up till then though, they stay inflated for days.
They just seem to develop a leak after 3 seasons for no reason and that is the signal to get rid and buy new. Cheap to buy as well. Been using the type for years.

We have Gelert flocked double airbeds. We use two, one for hubbie and I and the other for our three boys aged 6,7 and 8 who sleep across it rather than the regular way.
We have only used them for three days over easter but they were great and never needed reflating, even our bed was great and I am desperately in need of a diet!

Well we figured that ours is just knackered (needless to say I'm now on a diet!!!), although the other two we think weren't blown up properly (OH operator use). I've been watching the threads about the Coleman Double Comfort beds, they look good!!
