um, was planning to take our feather duvet because that is so warm, too warm so I thought better for me as I find sleeping bags very constrictive. In fact, last year, was fighting my way out of it in the night and hardly awake, quite scary in fact.
Plan is, blanket, airbed, thin duvet (4.5tog), sheet to hold it in place then duvet over. Laways take plenty of blankets in case the kiddies get cold in their bags, they're happy with their bags anyway!

]The Vango Astral 350 (or 350XL) is an excellent bag. Val, didn't you say you have recently seen them for sale at £17.50 each? Any chance of a link?
It wasn`t me, it was another forum member that said s/he had seen the Astral 350 (not the XL, but still very roomy) for £17.50 at Duncan of Wishaw. Not on the website, but might be worth a phone call.

I've just ordered two of these. I thought they were good value - look very warm and this company only charges £3.95 p&p.

See Awnings Direct - junior sleeping bag - £9.25
They do other pattens/colours in the same style. I've ordered the "tractors" style. They also do a junior mummy bag for £7.
I have never used this company before - so fingers crossed my order will arrive soonish.

We bought our Sunncamp awning and inner tent from them, and they were very good, wouldn't hesitate to use them again - apart from saying they didn't deliver on "Easter Saturday" ???? That's a new one on me!
We use 2 duvets most of the time unless we're pushed for space. I find sleeping bags a little too restrictive for my liking so sandwiching between 2 hi-tog duvets is the best option. Another thing against the sleeping bags is that dh is allergic to feathers so we have to use synthetic ones which can be a bit stuffy.
------------- Current tents in use: 5m Bell, Obelink Palamos 6, Vango Tornado 300 Vango Force 10 Mk3, Hypercamp Eldorado & Orange Raclet
We used to use sleeping bags, but have now changed to a duvet instead. I'm at that certain age where I go as hot as a furnace at times during the night, and need to pull the covers off quick - you can't unzip a sleeping bag quick when you're half asleep! It's also easier & quieter to pay a visit to the loo - no noisy zipping sound!
My hubby is a bit of a cold fish, yet even he says that the duvet is just as warm as the sleeping bags were. Also the duvet doesn't take up any more space in the car than the sleeping bags we used.
All 6 of use started camping again a few years ago and i only every considered sleeping bags. After just one trip no one liked the bags and found them restricting! So i have a storge unit with more sleeping bags then i can count unused and we have gone back to duvets and blankets.
------------- If life gives you lemons throw them at someone :)
Oh well, just got a phone call from awnings direct to say the sunncamp junior sleeping bags (mentioned above) were all out of stock!!!! Why can't they state this on their website - would save them and their customers wasting time. This has happened to me before with other camping shops. Now I've seen the sleeping bags at £9.25 I don't really want to pay the £15 offered by Wildday for the same thing.
Tried the duvet at half-term. I'm never ever going back to a sleeping bag. We had a double height queen size airbed, double thickness fleece throw for an underblanket, 100% cotton fitted sheet and then the duvet (13 TOG) over us. My partner thought I was mad packing it but then said it was the most comfortable night's sleep he'd ever had whilst camping. I agreed!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
