Thanks very much for your replies, some of them are really helpful, will go and have a look this weekend, probably wont for our weekend trip next week, but will definately take when we go camping for a week in august. Im naturally a really organised person so find it hard when my family just chuck their things on the floor for the spiders to crawl on! Thanks again
Having wasted 2 days of a precious holiday washing all our clothes after our tent was flooded and silt ,sand and water damaged the holdalls in the spare bedroom compartment- we use a wardrobe now- it takes time to erect but we stay on the site for 2-3 weeks at a time so worth it- ours looks a bit like the tall one in the picture previously posted
I like the sound of the wardrobe - nothing worse than having to rummage through a packed holdall looking for a particular item which invariably turns up right at the bottom. My only concern is how much room they take up when packed away.
I can only just fit all our gear in the car as it is.
Wardrobes and larders are fine if you have space in your car/trailer to pack them plus the suitcases or whatever your clothes and stuff are travelling in AND you are going to enjoy spending time assembling/disassembling stocking/emptying them at the start and end of your trip.
But it is perfectly possible to be organised without them.
I find the whole notion of wardrobes and cupboards when camping faintly amusing if I'm perfectly honest. I am perfectly good at keeping everything in perfect order without that kind of faffing and expense.
But if it floats your boat and you have a 4X4/trailer/whatever with loads of space then by all means go for it.
This is not the exact bag we have but something similar :
It zips right around the middle and opens up like a book into equal halves, both of which have mesh zipped covers to hold the contents in place. Inside ours, the bottom half is all one space which is good for larger items you want to keep flat. The top half is divided into two completely separate smaller sections which you could use for underwear, toiletries etc. MT

We would not camp without our Outwell Wardrobes/Kitchen Unit..... much easier to put up than you would think from looking at them and great for keeping everything tidy and sorted. Also top of wardrobe acts as stand for heater/laptop and keeps valuable electricals off floor!!!
But it's all a matter of what you want to take with you - and how much space they take up in the tent when put up.
Hope everyone camping this weekend has a safe time (and that the weathermen are wrong again!!)
Agree with SteveE0786, they are a lot easier to put up than they look. We have the Trinidad and Jamaica wardrobe / cupboard we take away and use for trips of 5 days are longer.
I always take a small canvas wardrobe that I bought in a 'discount' type cheapo shop for £6 - has room to hang things and side pockets for 'odds n sods' - the base is handy to keep 'undies' and small folded stuff, it keeps things from ending up like a jumble sale - dirty and clean altogether in a creased heap can make you start to scream after 2 days! As for somewhere to put food I use the shelving under the cooker (on the concertina stand) and always take one of those chrome put together veggie racks - stores everything great and is on wheels so you can move it about easier............both of these things fold flat and only cost a fraction of the branded camping versions.
I always pick up those tough little shallow crate type boxes you find in Aldi and Lidl, where they keep tins etc....great for keeping food in and anything else small you take - can be stored away until next trip in them too!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
