We had one of the plastic ones and unless you sat on it in a particular order it would collapse. When we finally gave up on it - we put it by the bins on a camp site and it disappeared within 20 minutes!!

We leave the Gelert Aluminium table outside for the two to three weeks when we're camping and it hasn't suffered at all.
