The pros and cons have been discussed many a time on here, but this isn't about that.
After sitting on the fence for a while, we finally bought one and found it a boon on our trip to Belgium last week.
However, you know when you go into a pub and there's a television on? you're not really interested but your eyes keep drifting toward it! That's how it was with the sat nav.
OK if there is 2 in the car, it can be swivelled toward the passenger, but how do these people travelling alone use them?
In my opinion they could cause a lot more accidents than answering a phone call.

I find that there isn't any need to keep looking at the Sat Nav.It gives enough warning by the voice to do where to go.

that is right I drive a small lorry for work and it stil ltries to take me down some unsuitable roads.

I have a Nissan and it has it own SATNAV.  It always seems to want to take me on motorways whenever I tell it I want to go via the fastest route.   If I ask it to navigate via the shortest route, it can be quite an experience.  I recently went from Oldham to Buxton via the shortest route. This seemingly involves driving along some unsurfaced tracks in Stalybridge.

Isn't technology marvelous?
