Mine arrived today from worldofcamping - I'm testing it in the kitchen on the mains, it's a bit noisier than I was expecting, but I've never seen/heard one in action before. The instructions reckon you can run it for 3 hours without the car engine on and it won't kill your battery. Don't know that I'm brave enough to test that theory!
I dont think i would want to chance it either. Just a thought do the non electric boxes have a better insulation than the electic ones? In other words if we take the electric coolbox out of the car into the tent and leave it all night will it lose its cool quicker than if we use a non electric with icepacks? I wish i had bought a 3 way one then run it off the gas at night and then i suppose i would be worried about not having eneough gas for cooking in the morning or worse still being fumed in the night and waking up dead. I think i need another drink!!
