My first airbed was OK. But when that finally broke down the next ones failed every time, getting soft slowly or faster. I got fed up and changed to isol-mats first and later to self inflatables. Used them for years and years without any problems, although these do not have eternal life either, of course.
We have a couple of the restform highrise airbeds at home for guests to use and they are really good BUT there is no way you could sleep on one in a Khyam tourer bedroom for two reasons:
1. They have a large ring around the bottom to increase stability which means it is easily bigger than the area of the bedroom inner floor.
2. They are so tall, the roof of the inner would probably press you down tightly onto the bed just like you had been cling-filmed. :-) (Well assuming the inners on your 400 are the same as our 600, one of you would be fine, nearest the living area, but the one near the wall would be vacuum packed.)
You would probably be able to use it in the living area of your tourer, but only just!

We got fed up with our airbeds going down so this year we invested in some camp beds from Argos - about £7 each bed - problem is they take longer to erect than the tent!

I found that problem too, it left me with a right sweat on putting the camp beds up, so have gone back to airbeds, but this time have bought 2 singles instead of a double, so that at least I will only to have to replace a single at a time not a double (Hopefully)
I've got a Coleman Comfort double airbed. It's supposedly guaranteed not to leak, but find that it benefits from reinflating after about 3 or 4 days. It could be something to do with the fact that a few extra pounds have crept on since my OH had a skiing injury in March which has kept us from our usual summer fitness regime of cycling and gym. ( That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). Hopefully that will all change as I start rugby coaching again this weekend.
A friend of ours has had his camp bed for a few years and has no problems putting it up but he reckons that he has "bedded it in" with his weight - oh well bang goes the diet! I suppose its better than getting cramp from constantly using a foot pump! Apart from that we actually had some good nights kip as we found we didnt get the usual slipping down the airbed syndrome and finding yourself half way across your tent in the middle of the night.
