We have the Carri Chef. Both the fat/drip tray and the fat/heat deflector should be used under the bbq plate/grill. It protects the burner and keeps it clean. Then you only have to clean the fat/drip tray and the deflector (and the bbq grill). Cleaning the burner would be impossible. Then the food is nice and healthy and fat free !
So it's the burner, then the fat/drip tray, then the fat/heat deflector, then the bbq grill. It's all in the instruction book.....
The fat/heat deflector is not needed when using the ribbed grill plate (either side up) as it acts as a deflector itself and the fat drips off the side into the fat tray (plus they both use the same holes to sit in !)
If you have space and cash is not a problem, I would get the Cadac easy chef and a fold up or portable (including the cobb) charcoal bbq, best of both worlds

------------- Does it ever get better than spare ribs and chops straight off the BBQ

These look very interesting. Been mulling over for ages whether to get a BBQ in gas or charcoal, now I'm wondering about this cadac instead. Problem is I still can't decide ! I wonder whether the gas bottles are more convenient than getting coals - & which works out most economical ?
Sorry for the constant Q's but is it the "butane regulator kit" £6.95 i need for the cadac carri chef delux?
Also is it easy enough to fit? and is it then a 4.5kg butane gas i need to get? My hubby is my very own Mr Bean(but i'm not complaining) it just means i have to rely on the support of this wonderful, informative, friendly forum
Thankyou all in advance karla x
