Well - of course I forgot the camera! But what a weekend! We were at Daleacres which is where we keep the van and the weather was glorious - and so is the van! I love it! We have not got the carpet down - but that made it feel even more spacious - I think for the summer I will just get a runner as we kept slipping on the shiny floor! I hummed and haad about the upholstery, but bought four cream cushions and they look great on the end seating and cover the yucky brown on the dinette. We took the brown pelmet off and I have brought the brown tie backs home and I am going to have cream ones to match the cushions. A nice bright yellow bowl in the sink and a cream tea towel ... it really feels like home now. The storage is different to the Bailey - lots of it but not so accessible and it took a while to work out the best place for everything, but I certainly don't miss the microwave. Your advice about the bed was fab - took a lot of guesswork out of it - isn't the fridge light bright? We had to cover it with a cloth! The only other thing is the awkward front steadies - we may have to get one of those electic things. I look forward to a summer in the lovely bright van! I am sure that you will enjoy yours too - thanks for all the great advice!
No problem Lindsey, glad to have been of help! Have to say, even with the electric drillbit to put the legs down, it is still a bit awkward - my drillbit attachment keeps getting stuck on it!! Bit of serious wiggling to get it free! Have tried both the long and short versions, but it is much the same! (Watch out with the short one - it is easy to scrape your hand - ouch!)
No carpet with ours - we just use runners and a wee electric carpet sweeper to keep the vinyl clean.
Glad you had a great weekend & enjoyed the van so much! Sounds like you have already made yourselves at home in it...
Off to St Andrews ourselves this weekend in ours - must get packing!!!
Hello - we have had our 532UK for a year now, and love it!!
Yes, the bed is a slightly odd shape, we recommend sleeping with your heads at the same side as the fridge so there is a little extra leg room at the other side; you can't see the light from the fridge display plus you can watch tv placed on top of the narrow cupboard. There is a long thin filler cushion amongst the side bunkbed cushions that fills the narrow gap. A paperback book does a good job too!
We have found the best arrangement is to lay the side/back cushions on top of the table, insert the wee filler cushion and then slide the back/corner joined cushions under the table. It's fiddly but it can be done! We put a thin memory foam mattress on top with a fitted sheet over it to reduce the wear on the cushions. Saves you having to flip all the cushions over to avoid the buttons!
Our hitchlock is a yellow Stronghold make (0871 282 8384 aftersales) and it fits over the red handle, we use a dummy towball insert with it. We have a Euroclamp wheel lock but had to remove the wheeltrim for a good fit. Bought these both online, possibly Towsure???
Hope that helps!
