"Do NOT mess with the RCD at all then just enjoy yourselves."

That is bad advice!
On connecting the supply to the caravan before switching on any appliances it is essential to press the test button on the RCD to ensure it is working properly.
This should be done every time you connect the electricity.

You can get the orange cable here, which would cost £67.50 for 50m. You would also need this and this

Agreed. It looked from GG's post she was going to ask hubby to do something with the RCD ie open it up. That's a total no no.

Hi all - don't worry not going to ask hubby to fiddle with RCD just test it ! I have the polarity checker and mains adaptor and extension lead all in my basket in amazon but I can't seem to find a reverse polarity adaptor ??? Can they be bought - I appreciate I probably won't ever need it bit if I'm taking the reverse polarity checker ( only a fiver) what on earth do I do if there is an issue and I don't have the adaptor to put it right ?? Or have I missed something
Sorry to ask again you have all been so helpful

If you can wire up a domestic plug, you could make a reverse polarity lead up (using the parts listed in griff10553's post above - but with a rather shorter length of cable; about half a metre should be plenty!) reversing the cable at either plug or socket of course, and marking it to stop anyone inadvertently using it to reverse a correctly-wired supply.
