If you regularly drive at 60 to 70 mph this keeps the DPF clear,if you only do short runs it will clear itself.
If it gets too clogged up it has to be done at a dealers and could mean a new one.
This has nothing to do with Catalytic Converters
Frightening stuff this. Thanks gents for making me aware. Beginning to wish I had never changed cars. The acrid smell happened again today and we've still only done 134 miles driving at speeds that we used to drive happily around in the 2010 Sorento. The dealer mentioned that "you never know how they have been moved around in the docks" before they reached us. All seems a bit worrying to me. It does seem a bit lower geared which would make sense if they want us to keep up the revs. Wont do a lot for my fuel economy! Progress aye?
