you wont get any cool box to "charge" from the car, all you can do is plug it in the car every time you go out in it to chill it back down again, just get in the habit of not opening it too often and lots of things will stay cold just by being put into a bucket of cold water and kept in the shade with a wet towel over them

Have you considered a good quality cool box?
We have a Coleman extreme which easily keeps things cool for a weekend, and longer if you re-freeze ice packs or add supermarket ice.
If you freeze as much of your food as you can in advance and keep opening it to a minimum then they work really well, and many sites will re-freeze ice packs so no need for EHU
