Camping foam mats ON TOP of airbed, kept in place with a fitted sheet, then sleeping bag on that, with extra duvet or blankets if extra cold.
totally agree ..tried that this weekend after a cool night .....works like a dream ..warm and cosy nights sleep
previiusly tried the foam mat UNDER the airbed ..no difference.....still felt the cold air in the airbed ......
I had always thought it was cold coming through the ground not the cold air in the airbed itself. Will try this camping mat on top plus with some fleecy throws on top - many thanks
picnic rug, airbed, old sleeping bag opened out, newer sleeping bags zipped up with us in them, duvet.
plus coats and/or jumpers are always lying about ready to put on top as well. I don't want to risk being cold do I?? We're usually boiling but its easy to chuck the duvet off if necessary, but once you get cold its hard to get warmed up again.
We had two foam mats under our high rise airbed, a blanket on the bed, our two sleeping bags zipped together to make a double and then a blanket on top of that and we were lovely and warm on our first trip at the beginning of May. We also put blankets/throws on the floor in the bedroom compartments, nicer to step out of bed onto. I actually got some really cheap (£1.50) small rugs from Dunelm which we use at the bottom of the bed to stand on when getting dressed etc.
