Of course there is this difference. In a tent one needs more power/capacity (Amps) to obtain the same temperature. However, a tent and awning are more or less comparable.
But the properties of a means of heating, i.e. focus on radiation,focus on natural circulation or focus on artificial circulation, remains.
One still chooses mainly on the basis of these properties.
Some prefer to sit in front of a glowing heater, some prefer to have the heat evenly distributed troughout tent or awning. Likewise in a caravan fans (be it a heaterpart like the fanmaster or a separate fanheater) a fan often is used to get even distribution of heat, especially also to the bottom of the caravan for warm feet.
