We have Yahtzee as well, and who's in the bag, we also have a travel trivial persutes and when my sons where younger we use to have kid trivial card so they could join in, now the youngest is 14 he just uses the normal cards, also Articulate is good, we dont use the board just a pad and pen to keep score. oh and pictionary is good as well, WH Smiths do there own version of quiet a few games and the boxes are smaller and they also have a good selection of travel games.
I know you didn't want Monopoly but Asda do a travel version. There are some small pieces but we keep them in a small plastic sandwich box. Last year the weather was quite reasonable but I kept finding the girls playing it. We also have a small set of dominos and last year we took the cribbage board and started playing that. I also got a book of card games. They could choose one and we would all learn it - some were more sucessful than others!! Lets hope the sun returns.
Sticky foreheads! Just need some post its and each player writes the name of a person or character (eg Micky Mouse,Robbie Williams, Jesus Christ) on one post it and sticks it on someone else's forehead (without them seeing it). Then you take it in turns to ask questions to get a yes or no answer (Am I a real person, am i dead, am I a singer, etc). You keep asking questions until you get a "no". The first person to guess who they are is the winner. Good game if you have different age groups - you just vary the difficulty of the names according to age.
Boxes - draw dots in a square (10 x 10 or however big you want). Take turns to draw a line from one dot to it's immediate neighbour ( hoizontally or vertically, not diagonally). Keep going until one person adds a line which forms a square of the 4 dots. Put your initial in that box. You get another go each time you form a box. Count up the initials at the end for the winner.
Monopoly Express is great - Little Scamp and I play it a lot in the 'van. We also have Super Boggle (same as Boggle, but with a built-in electronic timer and the option of playing with 25 dice in a 5x5 grid), Uno, ordinary cards, Yahtzee, Travel Trivial Pursuit, Travel Scrabble, and several puzzles and puzzle books stashed in one of the overhead lockers. I keep my eys open for small games, etc, where-ever I go as you never know when you might pick up a little gem!

Those scoobydoo string things kept them amused last year, but now they're out of fashion........... who knows.
