Hi, sonja.p, the small gap at the end of the peg puller will allow you to slide the puller along the underside of the top of the peg. It will end up under the flat part (striker) used to insert the peg. Pull the peg at the same angle that it went in.

I received the long puller you sent me the other day and couldn't wait to try it, needless to say it "does exactly what it says on the tin!"
Once it's hooked under the striker of the DGA the grip is absolutely solid and I'm sure you could pull the damned thing even if it was set in concrete! I realise this is only a prototype, but I do think the production model would benefit from having the tubular handle you've already mentioned. Other than that it's brilliant! Highly recommended!
As far as I can see, it will also work with the standard plastic pegs too. You do realise that you now have a "Delta Ground Anchor Pegging System" don't you?

Sorry about the delay in replying. Seems like I need to start selling claw hammers.
The ground at the back of our place is fairly dense and I've used it time and time again to test different types of nylon for our pegs. I've never had a problem getting them out but it doesn't mean to say there isn't one.
What I will do, is leave a peg in for two weeks and see what problems I have after that time. It may be that the mud settles and forms a suction around the peg.
If any man could break our peg pullers through normal use though, I, for one, would call him 'Sir'.
I left the peg as promised for two weeks. I must admit that I didn't have a problem taking it out (with fingers).
I can't understand why a peg won't come out the same way it has been inserted, unless it has been wedged tightly between stones. Just a thought.
I would appreciate any feedback as I am about to supply some campsites in Cornwall for this year.

Rob I only have a problem when the pegs come out really coated & I have to scrape them before packing up, it could be a heavy clay content in the soil so it grips to the peg.
